Mild End to Weekend Gives Way to Rain

After a bright start to our morning, clouds will increase this afternoon as our next area of low pressure moves in from the west. Highs today will make it into the 60s once again while coastal towns will be in the 50s thanks to sea breezes. Good news is that the rain will approach the region mainly after 10 PM so enjoy the nice weather because the week looks to stay unsettled.

Soggy conditions to start the work week with rain chances around southern New England while northern New England will pick up some heavy wet snow especially across Maine where temperatures will remain in the 30s. The mountains in Maine may accumulate anywhere between 6 to 9 inches while Bangor and Augusta could get between 3 to 5, areas near the Lakes Region could pick up 1 to 3 inches of snow as the system impacts us all day. Highs on Monday will be a lot cooler mainly in the 40s to near 50°. The chance for the steadiest and heaviest rain will be in the morning while sporadic showers during the afternoon and evening.

The front is expected to stall to our south allowing for another wave to move through Tuesday with a chance for showers especially during the afternoon so we will have to keep a very close eye on the forecast, being that it is the Red Sox home opener at Fenway. As of now, first pitch looks gray and cool with a spot shower possible. Temperatures will be quite cool thanks to the cloud cover and the wind direction so expect highs mostly in the 40s near the coast while 50s inland.

By mid-week, we experience a break from the rain, with seasonable temperatures on the forecast for both Wednesday and Thursday-these will be your best days for outdoor activities. Another round of rain is expected to move in Friday into Saturday with our Exclusive 10-day forecast indicating a chance for rain on Patriots’ Day.
