A 27-year-old driver from Amherst, New Hampshire, was charged Friday night in an alcohol-related fatal crash that led to the death of the other driver, a 21-year-old Manchester woman, police.
Driver Tyler Berry was treated at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH. After treatment, police arrested and charged the driver with felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol.
The other driver, Sierra Croteau of Manchester, NH, was pronounced dead at the crash scene in Amherst.
The collission occurred on Route 101 at approximately 11:30 Friday night. Police arrived and found two vehicles involved in the crash, Berry’s 2018 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup truck and Croteau’s 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe.
“Based upon the initial investigation, the GMC pick-up was traveling westbound when it crossed the yellow center line and struck the Hyundai, head-on, as it was traveling eastbound,” police said.
Amherst police called the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction, (C.A.R.) to the scene to aid in the investigation. That area of the road was closed for approximately five hours.
“At this time it appears that impairment was a factor in this crash, however all aspects remain under investigation,” police said.
