Roads, surfaces slick with ice after overnight snow, sleet

Another round of snow, sleet and ice is making for a slick commute Thursday.

There were some slippery areas for Thursday’s morning commute, especially north and west of Interstate 495, where freezing rain and sleet could hold on a bit longer.

“If (surfaces) haven’t been treated, it’s going to be like a skating rink,” StormTeam 5 meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon warned.

The storm was relatively small locally, but along with the full moon this month – which is a a supermoon – some minor coastal flooding is possible on Thursday.
