Commuters may face a slippery drive Tuesday morning, as some light snow is expected to sprinkle across most of the state.
StormTeam 5 meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon said the burst of snow won’t bring much accumulation for most communities, but the trouble will be in the timing. It is likely to strike during the morning commute, she said.
Most of the region can expect a coating to 1 inch of snow before the precipitation transitions to rain, with higher totals in the Merrimack Valley, northern Worcester County and New Hampshire.
The first flakes arrived early Tuesday, however snow was expected to change over to rain.
The forecast prompted the National Weather Service to issue a winter weather advisory for areas north of the Massachusetts Turnpike and west of Interstate 495.
